NEW TANGLE PATTERN - Arcoquatro

So now, that you have been introduced to 'arcodos' and 'arcotres' , today I am introducing 'Arcocuatro'.

When naming this pattern I kept with the Spanish theme. 'Arco' meaning 'arcs' and 'cuatro' meaning four, as this pattern uses four arcs, and is similar to the previous two patterns.

For Arcocuatro you use the same grid and the first two steps are also the same as in the previous two patterns. You can also draw the arcs by turning your tile 90 degrees

Here are the step outs for Arcocuatro for your exploration and creativity.

Here is a tile with a number of variations.

Have fun with this.

Weekly Challenge #200: "Bi-Zen-Tennial Celebration!"

Hello All,

Laura, better known as 'The Diva', has announced her 200th Diva Challenge this week. Congratulations to Laura for her time & wonderful challenges. Making 200 is a major event.

As her challenge this week, Laura invited us to create a tile using our favourite tangle pattern and adding the number 200 somewhere on it. This is her 'Bi-Zen-Tennial' challenge. I love the name and you can read about how the word 'Bi-Zen-Tennial' came about on her blog.

Nipa is one of my favourite tangle patterns so I used it for this challenge.

This is one variation of nipa I have not tried before and I like the way it turned out. Must do this again sometime.

You can see more entries in the 'Bi-Zen-Tennial' challenge here. If you haven't tried a challenge yet, give it a go. They are so much fun!

NEW TANGLE PATTERN - ARCOTRES

In my last post I introduced you to 'Arcodos', which is arc + two in Spanish. Today I am introducing 'Arcotres', as an extension to 'arcodos'. In keeping with the Spanish language 'arcotres is arc + three.

Arcotres uses the same grid and you draw it the same as arcodos plus one more line.

Here are the step outs for Arcotres for your exploration and creativity.

And here is Arcotres in free form.

Here are a couple more tiles I completed using Arcodos and Arcotres together

with variations

NEW TANGLE PATTERN - ARCODOS

Welcome to 2015!

I hope everyone enjoyed a festive Christmas and a fun New Years Eve. Here's looking to a great 2015 for everyone.

Over the Christmas & New Year break I have been playing with a new pattern and its many variations.

So, to start off the New Year, I thought I would introduce you to 'arcodos'.

Arcodos is a grid based pattern using orbs and arcs. It was named arcodos as it uses 2 arcs. 'Arco' means 'arc' in Spanish and 'dos' is the number two. I chose spanish because I am slowly learning to speak spanish & now I know two new words.

So here is the step-out and a tile using arcodos.

Arcodos is a pattern which can be varied to create many tangleations.

In this next tile you can see I used arcodos in free form.

I hope you enjoy using arcodos when tangling.
I would love to see what you can do with arcodos also.
Feel free to send me an email or a link to your tile.

Cheers for now.
