Weekly Challenge #191: "Monotangle: Betweed"

Hi Everyone,

This weeks challenge by the Diva was to create a monotangle using the pattern betweed.

Betweed is one of my favourite patterns, and like Laura I tended to always use it in the same way. So, for this challenge I decided to make a more open piece and practice my shading skills and shade my betweed in a different way to the usual. I also used a tile I had drawn a string on whilst teaching a 'string class' last week.

I rather like how this tile turned out. It has also opened my eyes once again to look at possible alternatives and not just stick with the status quo. Thanks Laura for sharing the challenge.

Zentangle in Schools

I love it when the Zentangle newsletter arrives. There is always so much great information and inspiration. This week when the newsletter arrived I was surprised to see a letter sent to Rick & Maria from one of my students. Since learning about Zentangle she has taken it into her child's class & they kids have virtually exploded with Zentangle mania.

This is just one photo of the work the children have done.

To see more fabulous Zentangle art work and read all about it go to the latest Zentangle newsletter.

Enjoy.

Weekly Challenge #189: UMT "Yuma" by Tina-AKUA, CZT

Wonders will never cease!

I've completed this weeks challenge on the first day. I'm normally one of the last ones to complete a challenge & then get it posted for all to see.

This weeks Diva challenge was to use Tina Akau's pattern 'yuma'. Sitting in my cosy bed, the weather outside was awful. Wind howling, pouring rain. Big storm passing through Sydney. I was so having a great time completing this challenge that when all the lights went out, I found a torch and completed this tile by torch light. I didn't want to put it down until I had finished.

I must say, I love the pattern 'yuma'. It's so easy to get into the flow. Thank you Tina for sharing 'yuma' with the Zentangle community.

So here is my tile for 'yuma'.

Want to see what other great creative pieces people have designed for using the pattern 'yuma'? Go to The Diva's blog and click on all the links.

Until next time, Happy tangling everyone.

Weekly Challenge #187: "String Theory - Blind String"

Another week just flown by.

Finally finished my Blind String challenge for this week from The Diva.

For this challenge we were asked to draw a string without looking at our tile.
This is the result.

I was happy with the string but took a few days before I found some time to tangle. I also wanted to try a couple of new tangles so included them in my tile. The new tangles for me are footlites, cootie & trio.

Until next time. Happy tangling everyone.
