I've completed this weeks challenge on the first day. I'm normally one of the last ones to complete a challenge & then get it posted for all to see.
This weeks Diva challenge was to use Tina Akau's pattern 'yuma'. Sitting in my cosy bed, the weather outside was awful. Wind howling, pouring rain. Big storm passing through Sydney. I was so having a great time completing this challenge that when all the lights went out, I found a torch and completed this tile by torch light. I didn't want to put it down until I had finished.
I must say, I love the pattern 'yuma'. It's so easy to get into the flow. Thank you Tina for sharing 'yuma' with the Zentangle community.
So here is my tile for 'yuma'.

Until next time, Happy tangling everyone.

like the starkness of your tile that you've achieved through your use of white space - nicely done
ReplyDeleteI now see what I did wrong - I tried to fill all the space and you show that it isn't necessary. I also like the way the "fronds" go off into the black. Very nice tile.
ReplyDeleteI love the black edge and the running Yuma that changes from black to white as it crosses the edge!
ReplyDeletei like your story, fitting completley with your tile, thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique treatment of Yuma...I like how light it is. Your lines, extending from the ends of the oval shapes, then going to the black edges...terrific transition, and the scalloped edges of your white space...it all just comes together so nicely.
ReplyDeleteUnusual look for Yuma! Wonderful and creative!
ReplyDeleteThese webs we weave------ This is a successful unique interpretation of Yuma.
ReplyDeleteTangling by torch light! I can see the lightening sparking brightly.
ReplyDeleteBEautiful drawing, and I love the white-to-black transition (with the lines transitioning from black to white). Very elegant
ReplyDeleteI like the way you transitioned from white to black. Love the finishing by torchlight part.
