Weekly Challenge #185: DuoTangle - Phicops vs DivaDance

This weeks challenge by the diva was a duo tangle using the two patterns phicops and diva dance. Phicops is a tangle I had not tried before but I found it really fun to draw.

After finishing my tile I was not completely happy. To me it lacked life.
Here is my completed tile.

 

 

 

To add more life to my tile I decided to add some colour. I am really happy with the way it turned out & so much fun.

Divas Weekly Challenge #178: "Duotangle by the Letter!"

This weeks challenge was to use use any two tangles to create a duo tangle, using the initials of your name. With my initials L & W I chose to use laced and window grilles. There were not many tangles starting with w to choose from.

Laced is a tangle that I have always admired but never got around to trying, so I took this weeks challenge to give it a go. Laced is a very simple tangle with heaps of potential. If you have not tried it before then I suggest giving it a go. It always looks so good.

After completing my tile, I was not very happy with the result. The laced pattern was lost in the window grilles. So after some time I decided to work some more on my shading techniques to provide more contrast for the laced pattern. now I could see the laced pattern but I still wasn't really happy. In the end I used colour to make my laced pattern more pronounced. I am now happy with my results. I hope you like the look as well.

One of the great things about Zentangle is being able to use different techniques and skills to create different results. I am always trying something new.
