3D Starfish Card

I held a wonderful Zentangle class last weekend with some very enthusiastic tanglers. They wanted to create some Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA) so I came up with a 3D card based on a Zendala I had tangled previously.

This is my original Zendala.

From the original I created a template for the different layers to create the 3D effect. I also created a card template with a circular cut out section on the front for the 3D Zendala to peek through which would be glued on the inside of the card. 

The participants used copies of the template to tangle on and cut out. Then using double sided tape on the back of each starfish shape they layered the pieces on top of one another. Some extra tangling around the 3D Zendala was then added to the front & inside of the card to create some extra interest and surprise. We all had a wonderful time tangling, cutting & putting together the cards and everyone went home extremely happy with their tangled cards.
