This was the challenge The Diva set for us this week. We needed to choose a tangle and draw it as our string. Once the tangle/string was drawn we tangled inside the sections of the tangle, just like when we tangle inside the sections created when we draw a string.
So for this week, the string/tangle I chose was one I have been playing with recently. It just happened one day while I was tangling and since then I have been experimenting with it.

I am not sure if someone has already created the step out and named this tangle pattern. If you can help me with this information let me know. There are just so many tangle patterns out in the Zentangle community it is hard to keep up and know of them all.
Anyway, moving on. Once I had the tanglestring drawn it was time to choose which tangles to use.
To keep things fairly simple I decided to use the tangle yincut by Zentangle HQ.

The shading really makes the whole thing pop off the page.
Then, of course I started wondering what it would look like with the diamond shapes coloured black.
I like the white diamond tile better than the black diamond tile.

Great shading on your tile! It really makes the yin cut pop.
ReplyDeleteLovely, yes I think i like the white diamond best too.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I (sorry) like the black diamonds best because there is great contrast this way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tiles! I love the string pattern (which I did not know yet) . The last tile is my favourite!
