I hope everyone enjoyed a festive Christmas and a fun New Years Eve. Here's looking to a great 2015 for everyone.
Over the Christmas & New Year break I have been playing with a new pattern and its many variations.
So, to start off the New Year, I thought I would introduce you to 'arcodos'.
Arcodos is a grid based pattern using orbs and arcs. It was named arcodos as it uses 2 arcs. 'Arco' means 'arc' in Spanish and 'dos' is the number two. I chose spanish because I am slowly learning to speak spanish & now I know two new words.
So here is the step-out and a tile using arcodos.
Arcodos is a pattern which can be varied to create many tangleations.
In this next tile you can see I used arcodos in free form.

I used square grid lines first and of course it didn't work. Then made offset dots and got a better result. but using my Staedtler grid 1/2 inch circle to gain a more perfect arch and offset it was much easier, I turned the grid 90 degrees so that I could pull the pen lines around the intersections with a good result.
