This weeks challenge by the Diva was to create a monotangle using the pattern betweed.
Betweed is one of my favourite patterns, and like Laura I tended to always use it in the same way. So, for this challenge I decided to make a more open piece and practice my shading skills and shade my betweed in a different way to the usual. I also used a tile I had drawn a string on whilst teaching a 'string class' last week.
I rather like how this tile turned out. It has also opened my eyes once again to look at possible alternatives and not just stick with the status quo. Thanks Laura for sharing the challenge.

It's amazing how shading can completely change a tangle. I love this. It's made me look at Betweed anew.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I tend to see Betweed as very straight and geometric. This is so lighthearted and organic. Just lovely.
DeleteVery, very nice...I like it!
ReplyDeleteI love how you treated betweed. Lori has the right words: "organic and lighthearted". Well done. I'll keep this in mind.
ReplyDeleteI agree, organic and lighthearted are the right words for your tile.
ReplyDeleteLovely, airy and elegant!
ReplyDeleteLove the way that you shaded this!
